Job Description:

The University of Southern California is seeking a Customer Service Representative for USCard Services to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

The customer service representative position is important to services to the campus community as it relates to the Identity Management Program which includes the production and issuance of University ID’s for students, faculty, staff, university guests (academic or administrative), iVIP program, parents, hospital and community ID badges. This position also supports university wide services such as access control, meal plan administration for UPC residential students and mailing and ticket office services that would not otherwise be offered at the Health Science Campus. The expectation of this position is to provide support for these functions and to deliver excellent customer service through in-person and remote delivery communications (i.e. telephone, email and correspondence).

Job Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff and external customers. Meets customer needs, offers options, resolves problems and follows up with customers. Maintains a professional, friendly and helpful demeanor.
Uses information systems to input data, maintain databases, performs research for projects or issues, generates reports.
Identifies and prioritized problems and issues related to the service area. Performs research, offers solutions, options and strategies. Tracks problem status until resolution is achieved. Maintains close contact with customer to give updates on progress toward resolution of issue or service request.
Represents department to students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff and other outside customers. May act as representative for department at internal committee meetings such as new student orientations, customer service planning group(s), new employee on-boarding processes and special carding events.

Job Requirements:

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Experience: 2 years

Preferred Field of Expertise: Student counseling, customer service

Minimum Education: High School or equivalent. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

Minimum Experience: 1 year. Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience

Minimum Field of Expertise: Customer Service
