Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Data Architect.  The incumbent will be tasked with the design and implementation of data solutions that support the Business Intelligence needs of PPFA and the overall data architecture of PPFA technology systems.  In addition, the chosen candidate will be responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse architectures and should have experience analyzing system requirements and implementing migration methods for existing data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for evaluating and leading the selection of all infrastructure components related to data management, including, but not limited to: software, platform(s), relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools.  In partnership with IT, BI, Development, and other key stakeholders identify the optimum database design solutions.
  • Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages that meet business or industry requirements.
  • Manages crisis situations and responses that involve complex technical hardware and software challenges.
  • Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure data integrity and management of the ETL infrastructure for the Business Intelligence system(s).
  • Lead the integration efforts in merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and data flows.
  • Facilitate and support system feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot project(s) and testing.
  • Define, develop and institute robust, quality processes to implement data changes and database modifications.
  • Working with partners across IT and Information Security, ensure the integrity and security of PPFA’s data systems.
  • Monitor and enforce license agreements using appropriate tools and processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, gathering and analyzing system requirements.
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
