Job Description:
We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial B2B marketer to help us build a sustainable growth engine for Turing Fest. This role is focused on driving growth at the top of the funnel: figuring out how to get more people (and, most importantly, the right people) engaged with Turing Fest’s content and excited about our portfolio of events.
You’ll be a key part of Turing Fest’s new growth team, working closely with our CEO and Head of Growth. We’re looking for a true t-shaped marketer: you’ll have experience and confidence working across all the usual digital marketing channels (email, social media, content marketing, etc.), along with expert-level skills in at least one specialist area (technical SEO expertise is particularly desirable.)
This is not an entry-level role: we’re looking for a marketer with experience, ideas and opinions. You’ll play a key role in driving Turing Fest’s continued growth, so the ability to quickly grok our strategic positioning and audience is essential. Previous experience working with startups and tech businesses is a definite plus, and a strong understanding of the global tech industry (particularly the UK and European SaaS ecosystems) is vital.
Job Responsibilities:
What you’ll be doing:
- alongside the Head of Growth, develop and implement a top-of-funnel strategy to help Turing Fest reach and engage a wider audience
- take ownership of the SEO strategy and execution, sharing insights to inform content strategy and cross-channel campaigns
- design and implement cross-channel demand generation campaigns, in partnership with the Head of Growth and external PR consultants
- continuously test, measure and optimise top-of-funnel performance
- collaborate closely with the Head of Growth to continuously optimise lead-to-revenue processes and full-funnel attribution
We’re a small team, so this list isn’t comprehensive – the role will evolve as the Growth team does.
Job Requirements:
What we’re looking for:
- experience designing and implementing successful growth strategies across multiple digital channels, preferably in a B2B setting
- a creative and adaptable approach to marketing: you’re good at spotting opportunities for growth and designing inventive campaigns to take advantage of them
- a high level of comfort working with data, and using analytics tools to identify opportunities and determine ROI
- expert-level skills with (and strong opinions about) a variety of marketing software tools and platforms
- a strong bias towards action, and the confidence and motivation to operate autonomously: we’re not going to micromanage you
- excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit: we’re a small team, and we prize empathy and accountability
Benefits:
- Competitive compensation package, including UK pension scheme and participation in future employee stock option pools
- Flexible working arrangements and generous paid leave policy. Our team is primarily based in Edinburgh, Scotland, but you can work from anywhere in the UTC-3 to UTC+1 time zones
- A long-term role, with significant opportunity for growth. You’ll be a key member of the team, and you’ll be in a position to make an immediate impact
How To Apply:
Email your CV to careers@turingfest.com, and tell us a little about yourself — what have you done before, and why do you want to join the Turing Fest team? What was your biggest success, and your biggest failure — and what did you learn from them? Where do you think your skills are strongest, and where are you keen to learn more?
