Project Description

Listen to and evaluate audio (live or recorded) for quality, consistency, and correspondence between phonetic transcription and spoken or generated utterances. Help our team with the most appropriate pronunciation/transcription of common, difficult, or foreign words. suggest vocal techniques to alter phonation and conduct quality assurance of recorded prompts (misalignment, punctuation fixes, etc)

Requirement:

• Master’s Degree or higher in Linguistics, with a focus on phonetics, phonology, or other speech science
• Proficiency with narrow phonetic transcription using either IPA or X-SAMPA
• Native speaker of Finnish
• Fluent in the English language
• Consistent, reliable internet connection

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in working in the recording studio and with speech recordings
• Conducting voice training is a plus
