Job Overview:

Databricks is looking for a motivated Operations Manager to join our Global Operations team. As an Operations Manager for Professional Services (PS), you will own managing and developing the internal processes and systems, and provide full operational support to our Services Leadership Team focusing on revenue-driving activities across billable projects. You will work with the global delivery teams to provide visibility into the availability of all resources, including internal delivery resources and partners, and ensure that we optimize our resources to maximize revenue.

You will report to the Director of Services Operations and will be involved in the steps of the professional services delivery lifecycle. We ask that you have excellent analytical and a strong business mindset, as you will take initiative to develop, deploy repeatable and scalable processes. You will bring collaboration across our Services, Operations, Technical and Finance teams in establishing operational guidelines, resource assignments, and revenue recognition.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day, and month end close activities and processes with an eye towards operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the monthly closing of PS revenue, expense, billing including reconciliation, and coordination with the Finance team
  • Partner with the PS team and the broader services organization to ensure successful project delivery
  • Own the Professional Services Automation (PSA) software, including designing and implementing enhancements, and training the operational and field staff to best utilize it.
  • Review new PS engagements and create projects with accurate schedules, resource allocations, and revenue information
  • Meet with the regional leadership to ensure that project milestones are being completed, timesheets are being submitted accurately and timely, and that all engagements are being completed to ensure proper recognition of revenue and expenses.
  • Create dashboards and reports to provide insights to project health, resource utilization, and financial forecasts
  • Coordinate and support the partner contractual processes, work order approvals and tracking partner delivery activities

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant hands-on PS operations experience supporting the professional services team
  • Working knowledge of PS or consulting business model, processes and tracking key metrics
  • Experience in using business systems such as CRM, PS Automation, Order Mgmt and Accounting. Deep knowledge in Salesforce CRM and FinancialForce PSA is necessary.
  • Experience designing and implementing business processes, and the required systems.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating projects and working with cross-functional leaders across the business to identify areas of improvement, propose and implement solutions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing organization
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
