Job Overview:
Do you like breaking things on purpose? Gremlin is seeking inquisitive engineers who enjoy building cutting edge solutions to cause controlled chaos and proactively expose weaknesses in the production systems of our enterprise customers. Platform engineers are as comfortable on the command-line, stringing together unix commands as they are on the whiteboard, diagramming complex network interactions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build the latest and greatest in Chaos Engineering tooling
- Increase observability and reliability in core backend code
- Work efficiently within a remote culture to deliver new features
- Systematically eliminate technical debt
Job Requirements:
- Autonomous, self-starter who is motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty
- 5+ years of experience with Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience with microservice architectures and understanding of the network layer
- Experience with OpEx (Operational Excellence) best practices and tooling
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Nice to Have
- This position is primarily working in Java, so having a deep background there is very helpful.
- Working knowledge of functional programming paradigms
- Basic handle on the latest in JavaScript
- Has been on-call and participated in an incident management program
- Functional knowledge of systems level programming, specifically in Rust
- Understanding of change management practices, source control, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
