Job Description:
The Senior Project Manager of Get with the Guidelines (GWTG) Stroke and Comprehensive Stroke is responsible for
- the review and detailed abstraction of any of the GWTG – Stroke registry and provides supervision to GWTG project team members, ensuring that our Registry Partners (RP) standard of high-quality abstraction occurs, abstraction deadlines are met, and team members have work in their workflow.
- This individual would complete and maintain all project related documentation as outlined in the RP standard procedures.
- This person would consult with Registry Service Directors and Senior Vice President as appropriate, to evaluate client questions and concerns before responding.
- The ideal candidate portrays a professional and positive work ethic and attitude; is cooperative, committed, dependable and able to multi-task.
- This individual must have excellent organization skills, demonstrate initiative, ensure efficient use of time and resources and possess effective problem-solving skills. In addition, written and oral communication to be effective, professional and grammatically correct.
- This individual must abide by strict confidentiality regulations as defined by HIPAA and company policy by helping providers measure and improve the quality of care delivered.
- The GWTG – Stroke Clinical Data Abstractor is detail oriented, committed to high-quality data abstraction, meets both quality and productivity standards, functions well independently and works well under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of current data abstraction experience with GWTG – Stroke Registry, required
- A minimum of 1 year of current data abstraction experience with GWTG – Comprehensive Stroke Registry, required
- Actively using and expert knowledge of all industry related reference manuals, required
- Extensive knowledge of GWTG and TJC Comprehensive STK registry standards and regulations as defined by appropriate governing/accrediting body, required.
- At least one-year experience performing Validation/Inter-rater reliability (IRR) or other work experience relating to Validation and/or Quality, preferred.
- At least one- year experience in management, preferred
- Current GWTG STK and/or Comprehensive STK registry submission and/or data analytics experience, preferred
- Willingness to learn/cross-train/transition to other GWTG projects to assist on those service lines (GWTG HF, AFIB, or Resus), preferred
- Personal computer with Windows 7 operating system or higherSuccessful completion of pre-employment skills assessment exam
Certifications/Licenses/Degrees:
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field, preferred
Other Skills:
- Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
- Computer savvy with proficiency in EMR software and registry/database
- Abide by strict confidentiality regulations as defined by HIPPA and company policy
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), as well as highly organized, proficient time management and critical thinking skills
