We’re looking for a UX Software Engineer to help build and make Aptible the best security management platform for startups.

This is a unique opportunity to be a high-impact, early member of the Aptible Team. Reporting directly to our VP of Design, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing tools that help our clients improve their security posture.

Our Products

Gridiron is like the missing QuickBooks + TurboTax for information security audits. It helps teams design and run security management programs that meet and exceed requirements like HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001. Customers use it to build trust with their own customers and partners and pass audits. Enclave is a container orchestration platform for deploying audit-ready apps and databases that automatically implements the security controls customers need to achieve regulatory compliance and pass audits.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll bring our design vision to life with pixel-perfect precision, acting as the technical extension of the Design Team.
  • You’ll represent the voice of the user and work to constantly improve the user-friendliness of our products.
  • You’ll manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

About You: Strengths

  • Product & Design Sense: You’re comfortable making product and design decisions independently.
  • Problem Solving Skills: You invest time upfront in understanding the root of problems before acting.
  • Communications Skills: You have experience explaining complicated concepts and drafting clear communications that demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Collaboration Skills: You actively participate in Design, Technology, and Product discussions. You give and receive actionable feedback from both the Design and Engineering Teams.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: You have the ability to translate loose requirements into functional features, and apply existing design principles to new ideas. You know when to prototype unproven ideas before writing production code.
  • Desire to Learn Our Tools: You seek and have the ability to learn the tools we use today, and the new tools we might use tomorrow. Knowledge of what we use today is a plus. 1) Component-Based Frontend Framework (e.g. React) 2) Web Development Basics (e.g. Javascript, HTML, CSS) 3) CSS-in-JS
  • Design & Design System Experience: You have a passion for and experience working directly as a Designer or very closely with a Design Team. You have the ability to build, maintain, or use a design system.
