Job Expired

Job Description:

Are you an eagle-eyed Web Producer who will help us publish amazing web content?

PN is looking for a web content specialist with a sharp editorial eye and a passion for health, fitness and helping people live their best life.

Precision Nutrition is growing, and we need a laser-focused web producer to build and publish articles and other digital packages for the PN site.  As one of the largest nutrition coaching companies in the world, PN is bigger than it’s ever been — and it’s about to get bigger.

As we grow, demand for our articles, guides, and courses is going to grow with us. We need a versatile, decisive web producer to help us meet this demand, so we can teach millions more people how to live healthier, happier lives.

Join our Adventure

We’re embarking on a new adventure, and we need a WordPress-savvy producer to watch over our content.

We’ve got an exciting journey ahead of us…Over the next 10 years, Precision Nutrition will be expanding its world-class coaching services into a wide range of new fields, including functional medicine, chiropractic, and manual therapy, yoga, group exercise, and more.

Great web content has always been integral to our success, and it’s going to be that much more critical as we break into new markets. As such, we’re looking for an experienced web producer who can help us optimize our content for the social and mobile web, as well as keep our expansive library of articles, ebooks, and courses accessible and up-to-date.

Who we’re looking for

A producer who knows how to bring out the best in others’ work

  • You’re flexible and resilient. You thrive in fast-paced environments where there’s ample room to learn, test new strategies, and seek out fresh perspectives. You’re always hungry for a new challenge and embrace wearing different hats from time to time.
  • You have strong design instincts. You might not be a designer, but you can sense when something looks, feels, and sounds right (or wrong). You’re deeply familiar with the latest web publishing best practices and aren’t afraid to call out when a piece of content is clashing with the constraints of the medium.
  • You get that the web is always changing. You understand that the web is a dynamic medium, and that content needs to be continually maintained. You know how to talk about user engagement and use this information to make recommendations for future content. You also understand that best practices change with technology, and are always adapting your strategies to keep up.
  • You’re an exceptional communicator. You’re willing to go back and forth with authors, editors, and other stakeholders as often as it takes to ensure the final product is rock-solid. You’ve also got the editorial skills to distill feedback from multiple sources, align everyone’s expectations, and keep the content in sync through the editorial process.
  • You’re an organized multitasker. You know how to use editorial calendars and production workflows to manage multiple pieces of content simultaneously. More importantly, you know how to plan for tight deadlines and hit them without cutting corners (or creating chaos).
  • You’re an independent, confident decision maker. You get things done. When you get competing for feedback from people, you have no problem making an executive decision to keep things moving. You trust your own expertise, and if something doesn’t look right, you aren’t afraid to raise the issue and get it resolved to your satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing

Transforming static copy into vibrant digital content

Your mission is simple: Take our authors’ work and make it lively, readable, beautiful, and accessible. That means…

  • Putting new articles into WordPress. Our authors and editors will work on a piece, then send it over to you for a final pass. You’ll proofread it, format it for the web, add CTAs and interactive elements, and give it one last round of QA before it goes live.
  • Dealing with multiple types of content. You’ll handle editorial and marketing content in many forms, including articles, infographics, video, and multimedia packages. You’ll be in charge of formatting the content to fit the medium in question and making sure any download links are in place.
  • Updating our existing archive. We have a vast collection of high-quality articles on our site already, and you’ll play a key role in maintaining them. That means fixing broken links, updating copy and graphics, and even reorganizing our archive’s site architecture to optimize the user experience.
  • Aligning our content with our business goals. Our content should not only help people live healthier lives, it should also show them what PN is all about, and what our brand has to offer beyond free educational content. So you’ll also help our marketing team by connecting our content to our lead-generation and sales funnels when appropriate.

A few important caveats

This is a great job if you’re the right person for it.

Must-Have #1: You must know the tools of the trade. You’re a WordPress veteran. You know how to bend web content to your will, when to use CTAs, and how to deal with multimedia. You know how to get support from designers and developers, and ideally, you also have some basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Adobe tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign.

Must-Have #2: You must have 2+ years in web production under your belt. A lot of skills are teachable, but some things are born from experience — like the ability to manage multiple projects and hit hard deadlines. We need someone who’s successfully juggled digital projects in the past and has the training necessary to hit the ground running.

Must-Have #3: You believe in our mission. You’re genuinely excited about helping people live their best life. Helping people become healthier is the reason our company exists, and it’s what gets us excited about what we do. Like us, you’re as passionate about fitness and wellness as you are about the web.

Wondering if this is the right path for you?

Every year, professionals at the top of their field choose to join Precision Nutrition.

Here are 5 reasons why.

Reason #1: We give you the freedom to “do you.”

Unlike most companies, we don’t have rigid rules about how and when to do things. You’ll always be free to work independently, whenever, wherever, and however you want.

Reason #2: You can work from anywhere.

We’re a 100% remote company and have been working remote for 17 years. When you join our team, you’re no longer shackled to one desk, one office, one city, or even one country!

Reason #3: Meetings are optional. (No, really.)

You’re an adult. You’re capable of deciding how your time should be spent. If you don’t think you need to attend a meeting, you don’t. Simple as that.

Reason #4: You’ll always feel supported.

In a regular office, it’s easy to feel like a hamster in a wheel, powerless to change things. At Precision Nutrition, we work as a team to overcome issues & barriers that stand in each other’s way, and we treat each other with enthusiasm, compassion, and care.

Reason #5: You’ll never be bored.

People often come to Precision Nutrition after hitting a plateau in their old jobs. At PN, you’ll get the chance to conquer new challenges, learn from the best, and reach thrilling new heights of personal and professional growth.

Plus: no commute … and no 9-to-5 grind.

Go ahead: schedule work around your kids. Fly to Europe at a moment’s notice. We don’t care where you’re based or what hours you keep, as long as you always give us your best when it counts.
