Precision Nutrition is growing, and we need an experienced, data-driven outbound and email marketing expert who can take our outbound and email marketing campaigns to the next level, so we can generate qualified leads and drive more purchases through direct marketing. We’ve got an exciting journey ahead of us… Over the next 10 years, Precision Nutrition will be expanding its world-class coaching services into a wide range of new fields, including functional medicine, chiropractic and manual therapy, yoga, group exercise, and more.
To help us reach our goals and keep us moving forward, we need a self-motivated outbound and email marketing specialist who knows how to lead successful email campaigns so we can expand our reach.
Who we’re looking for
A direct marketing expert who can build and execute a plan from scratch
You know the tools of the trade. You’re no stranger to marketing automation platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and you have experience in business-to-consumer or ecommerce marketing. If you have some experience in SMS and direct mail, and some basic HTML knowledge, even better.
You have a good eye for marketing copy and design that sells. You have that instinct that tells you what works well in email marketing, and what looks good. You don’t need to be a designer, but you’ve gained a keen sense of what’s effective.
You’re a stellar communicator. Whether you’re speaking in front of a group or writing a report, you know how to take complex information and distill it down to clear, actionable advice.
You’re a prioritizing machine. When confronted with multiple competing perspectives about a production timeline, you’re able to hone in on what has the most value to the company at any given moment—and push back on the stuff that isn’t.
You’re independent and resilient. You aren’t content with just following orders—you like to have your hand on the wheel, and you’re skilled at respectfully challenging someone when they aren’t on the right track. At the same time, you don’t take things personally or get defensive when people question you or ask for more.
You can handle the heat. You don’t like sitting still. You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment where multiple complex projects are happening at once, and you have no problem managing and prioritizing your work effectively to meet those timetables.
You’re an innovator. You aren’t content with just sticking to “best practices.” You’re always open to new ideas, and you want to define your own set of best practices that make sense for the company—and how they’re implemented.
What you’ll be doing
Crafting and executing our outbound and email marketing plan…
You’re the ship’s navigator, telling us where we need to go and how we need to get there. Your mission is simple: define and execute our outbound and email marketing plan to keep our customers loyal. That includes:
- Developing our outbound and email marketing plan. You’ll be putting together a recommendation and calendar of outbound and email marketing campaigns to run.
- Deploying outbound and email marketing campaigns. You will be working in the tools to build the campaigns, execute the campaigns, and measure the effectiveness of the campaigns.
- Collaborating with our marketing team. Outbound and email marketing is one part of an overall marketing strategy and campaign, so you’ll be collaborating with marketing team members throughout the campaign planning, development, and execution process.
- Partnering with our editorial team. The writing team actually writes the emails, and so you’ll be working very closely with them to craft and hone the strategy as we go.
- Track and analyze campaign metrics. You’ll be developing A/B and multivariate testing strategies to see what’s working, what’s not, and turning that data into reports so we can incorporate those improvements into future campaigns. You will summarize program results into actionable insights that you, other marketing team members, and the editorial team can use to improve future program results.
…and paving the way for new marketing tactics
You’re also scouting out new areas where we can grow our customer base. Email is just the beginning—we’re also looking for new areas we can market our products, and that’s where you come in.
- Exploring other potential outbound marketing strategies. We leverage email already, but we’d also like to expand into new areas—whether that’s SMS, direct mail, or something else. You’ll be in charge of investigating these areas and building a strategy from the ground up to take advantage of these venues.
A few important caveats
This is a dream job, if you’re the right person for it.
Must-Have #1: You must be experienced.
We’re looking for someone with 3+ years in email marketing, who knows how to use tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Marketo, or something similar. You should have experience with everything from strategy to rolling up your sleeves and building the campaigns—not just managing an agency that is doing that on your behalf. B2B and B2C lead generation experience is desirable since we use both models.
Must-Have #2: You must have a strong track record.
You’ve proven yourself before—in establishing effective testing, measurement, and reporting systems, and in your ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Must-Have #3: You must have proven results.
You’ve not only built systems for outbound marketing, but you have something to show for it. You’ll need to show us campaigns you’ve run that have been successful in lead generation, lead qualification, and ultimately sales.
