As a Business Development Director at Human Made you are responsible for growing the business within your region. This includes sales of our web development services and our cloud platform, Altis. You will do this by developing a regional sales strategy that aligns with our global growth strategy, converting brands and professionals who are aligned with our ideal ICP.

You will be responsible for responding to inbound leads within your region delivering exceptional sales proposals and pitches that demonstrate our world-class engineering expertise, our effective delivery processes, and that bring value to the prospect throughout the process. You will work closely with the marketing team to qualify and nurture leads to build your pipeline, and with delivery teams to develop roadmaps and estimates.

You will be responsible for building your own pipeline through outbound activity including phone, email, Linkedin, referrals, and in-person events. You will work closely with prospects to understand their challenges and goals, nurturing them and bringing value through every interaction.

Human Made delivers engineering projects to enterprise organisations using scrum delivery processes. You should understand the value of agile delivery for enterprise and be able to make a strong business case to potential clients.

As a key member of the commercial team you’ll work closely with sales, marketing, accounts and delivery to make sure that our sales process is effective and able to meet our targets. You should be able to make the most of our CRM (Hubspot), develop new go-to-market campaigns within your region, and report regularly on your progress to the business.

As the company grows this role will include line management of future new business hires within the region.

Job Responsibilities

  • Achieve a target of £1 million new business per year through a mixture of inbound and outbound sales
  • Develop and execute on a sales strategy for your region that targets our ICP
  • Work with the marketing team to qualify and nurture inbound leads
  • Work on RFPs, estimations, presentations and pitches
  • Build your pipeline by identifying and nurturing outbound leads, through phone, email, linkedin, referrals, in person events and more
  • Working with delivery teams to roadmap and build estimates, including selling the value of our agile processes to prospects
  • Ensure a smooth transition between the sales and delivery processes
  • Work with the marketing team identify industry and sector wide challenges that can be turned into thought leadership and value driven content series to help support you on your mission
  • Data collection and enrichment of ICPs in our CRM
  • Create and build new go-to market campaigns and strategies that help you develop as a sales professional by producing revenue focused results
  • Report on your opportunities and their progress by keeping our tools up-to-date
  • Line manage more junior new business staff within region

Job Requirements

  • 8-10 years experience in b2b enterprise sales of professional web development services
  • Experience selling open source CMS services (WordPress preferred)
  • You should be an experienced closer and able to sell in a consultative manner to some of the world’s biggest organisations
  • Experience of selling agile delivery methodologies, particularly scrum
  • Able to work with delivery teams to estimate, roadmap, pitch, and win projects
  • Able to build your own pipeline through outbound prospecting and lead generation
  • An understanding of selling to global enterprise organisations
  • Good understanding of CRMs (hubspot preferred), including pipeline and data management
  • Some experience line managing or mentoring more junior new business staff
