The Client Engagement Specialist (CES) provides hands on Project Management within the Advanced Fusion Center (AFC) Client Engagement team. The CES leads multiple projects within the Client Engagement function. The CES aggressively drives projects from inception to completion, identifies and documents project requirements, supports clients and the function on various initiatives. The CES keeps all stakeholders apprised of project while managing risks and issues to resolution. CES resources are responsible for all aspects of the project management lifecycle (initiation, plan, execute, control, close) with focus on the management of project risks and devises strategies to mitigate and eliminate those risks. Client Engagement Specialists are responsible for driving projects and ensuring they progress as planned and are uninterrupted using comprehensive risk management strategies and generally accepted Project Management tools and concepts. The CES may lead or support AFC or Optiv at large projects. The CES will have a mix of client interaction responsibilities as well as functional and business unit focused projects such as continuous improvement, operations support, document management, reporting and governance (not exhaustive). The CES will often work closely with Client Engagement Leads and Senior Client Engagement Leads to execute client deliverables.

Job Responsibilities

  • The CES shall have the skills necessary to drive project progress across multiple stakeholders and levels of oversight with focus on meeting timeliness and demonstrating effective resource utilization.
  • The CES is accountable for the execution and delivery of customer-focused and internal projects ensuring uninterrupted progress
  • The CES shall have the ability to develop project plans, detailed schedules, cost forecasting, risk management, issues forecast and resolution planning, resource burn-rate analysis, reporting, and daily task management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and external planning and project status meetings.
  • Identify, assess, and track potential risk issues and create the appropriate mitigation plans into the overall project initiatives.
  • Assure overall project consistency through the sound application of methodologies, standards, templates, and other approved delivery requirements.
  • Projects Consolidate and report project performance metrics and status reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage projects across various functional groups, communicating potential risks and impacts identified.
  • Establish communication plans to facilitate core project team coordination and to provide status to management and extended project team members.
  • Maintain communications about the project to sales, customers, and delivery partners.
  • A CES may be assigned to multiple projects in parallel at various stages of the project lifecycle
  • A CES may be requested to take direction from a Client Engagement Lead (CEL), Sr. CEL or any AFC or Optiv Senior Management for specific project or engagement activity.

Job Requirements

  • May include up to 20% travel
  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer facing project/program delivery role within a professional services organization.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Specifically demonstrated success managing multiple clients and business initiatives on a medium to long term-basis.
  • Management of information security projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Project Management methodologies, best practices, and toolsets required.
  • Experience interfacing with both clients and partners required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Results oriented and self-motivated
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision required.
  • Ability to identify and address continuous improvement opportunities
  • Previous experience in a security services environment preferred.
  • Ability to work as a team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills
