AvantStay is looking for a Strategic Finance Intern with strong analytical, critical-thinking, and business acumen skills. This individual must be an energetic self starter looking to learn and expand their professional skill set in a fast-growing startup. The Strategic Finance intern will gain broad exposure to data analytics and problem solving, and will collaborate with colleagues across the Finance team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial forecasting and reporting of operational performance to business partners
  • Perform analytical reviews of historical trends for financial and performance metrics
  • Analyze data to determine cost savings opportunities to accurately forecast expenses
  • Create data visualizations that provide actionable insights for senior leadership, and prepare presentations for senior leadership
  • Assistance with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a 4-year University with a major in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Basic understanding of P&L preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedicated work ethic and high attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, plus proficiency in excel
  • Passion for finance

Benefits:

  • Part-time, 25 hours a week maximum during the summer
  • $15-25/hr
