The Learning Design Consultant designs and develops digital and blended learning solutions and experiences to facilitate learners in acquiring skills, behaviors, and competencies using effective and engaging methods that enable and empower learning transfer. The Learning Design Consultant provides learning consultation and instructional design services using traditional and emerging technologies in alignment with organizational needs, strategic goals, and priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops digital and blended learning solutions and experiences that support organizational strategies, skill-based learning journeys, leadership development, and clinical initiatives.
  • Designs and curates training content for use in instructor-led (ILT), virtual instructor-led (VILT), self-paced, and blended learning experiences, incorporating modalities such as course slide decks, delivery guides, participant materials, e-learning, instructional videos, infographics, multimedia visual aids, podcasts, case studies, simulations, gamification, micro-learning, and other performance support materials to support learning at scale.
  • Facilitates learning consultation with clients and subject matter experts (SMEs) to establish design specifications, which may include writing learning objectives, sequencing topics, developing content, and designing activities and assessments.
  • Collaborates with clients and subject matter experts to discover knowledge and skill gaps using a variety of approaches such as focus group sessions, needs assessment, and performance data analysis to clearly define objectives and key results.
  • Develops and maintains accurate project plans while managing content production timelines and the engagement of clients, contributors, and subject matter experts.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning solutions utilizing relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of best practices and trends related to learning experience design, instructional design and technology, and adult learning to support personal professional development and growth of team capabilities.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Required Minimum Education – Bachelors
  • Field of Study- Education, Instructional Design & Technology, Adult Learning, or related field.
  • Preferred Education – Masters
  • Field of Study – Education, Instructional Design & Technology, Adult Learning, or related field.

Work Experience:

  • Required Experience – Minimum of 5 years experience in learning, instructional design & technology, adult learning, or related field.
  • Preferred Experience – Experience designing learning solutions using course authoring tools and learning technology software. Articulate Storyline, Articulate 360, Canva, Camtasia, and Adobe XD experience are preferred.
