Job Description:

To coordinate pressure campaigns to push major restaurant chains, groceries, foodservice companies, food manufacturers, and producers to adopt and strengthen meaningful farmed animal protection policies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research key details of companies, including corporate structure, history, animal protection standards, leadership, social media handles, and affiliates
  • Develop campaign strategy and schedule of campaign tactics
  • Grow and support volunteer action network to mobilize volunteers to take actions on campaigns including calls and emails to corporate decision makers and posting on social media
  • Update website content related to campaigns and update sites per corporate successes
  • Draft and post petitions and petition updates
  • Develop Facebook ads for campaigns, including drafting language, working with relevant staff on graphic design, and working with legal counsel to ensure compliance
  • Draft letters to company board members, shareholders, and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate video development for campaigns, including drafting video scripts, creating and promoting video concepts in collaboration with video editors
  • Manage logistics of advertisement placement in newspapers, creation of mobile billboards, coordination of demonstrations and petition drops, and other creative tactics
  • Coordinate with relevant staff on engaging local celebrities to narrate videos, sign open letters, and promote campaigns on social media
  • Draft and post blogs related to campaign actions and successes
  • Conduct administrative duties such as scheduling travel and submitting monthly achievements and expense reports
  • Evaluate and measure program efficacy and efficiency and suggest areas for improvement

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in public affairs, corporate affairs, government relations, issue advocacy, grassroots campaigning, political organizing, communications, psychology, sociology, marketing, business, or related field
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, adaptability, and an unbeatable work ethic
  • Exceptional level of organization, efficiency, and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of farmed animal issues
  • Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural competency and equity issues
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and international experience preferred
