The University of the People (UoPeople) seeks an innovative, resourceful leader with a track record of developing online programs as its next Executive Vice President for Academic Operations. A collaborative leadership style in developing subordinates and academic organization and infrastructure is essential.

UoPeople is the first non-profit, tuition-free, American accredited online university, dedicated to opening access to higher education globally. By using innovative technologies, UoPeople is disrupting the current paradigm of higher education, optimizing efficiency and low costs alongside students’ experience and their learning outcomes. Led by current and former presidents of top universities such as Oxford, Columbia, NYU and Berkeley, UoPeople has developed a groundbreaking program to open global access to higher education. In just ten years, UoPeople’s enrollment has grown to more than 18,000 students from over 200 countries and territories, including over 600 Syrian refugees. The University offers associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Computer Science and Public and Community Health. Graduate degrees are offered in Business Administration and Education.

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the President, two critical tasks for the Executive Vice President of Academic Operations are as follows:

  1. 1.Creating and implementing a cost-effective instructional model that results in high levels of student learning, satisfaction, and retention.
  2. 2.Developing the academic structure of the University to maximize faculty and staff performance.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate must have the following experience, abilities, and credentials:

  • Experience in high-growth online programs/or institutions;
  • Ability to recruit and develop academic leaders;
  • Track record of innovative problem-solving;
  • Doctorate or terminal degree from an established, globally-recognized institution;
  • Three years of senior-level administrative experience in multi-cultural, online higher education; and
  • A record of teaching and scholarly or creative accomplishments.
