Job Description:
Imagine taking all the lessons we’ve learned in technology (agile development, analytics, automation) and applying them to the media industry, a sector still filled with opaque networks of agents/publishers/gatekeepers, massive top-down teams, and old distribution models.
FableLabs has built Tales, a platform that allows writers to rapidly pilot visual, interactive, episodic stories and iterate off feedback/metrics to improve performance. Couple all this with freemium, subscription, and ad monetization and we’ve got stories that can be produced for the cost of an ebook but with the distribution potential of freemium mobile games.
The gaming industry has done an amazing job with stories about knights defeating dragons to save helpless princesses but we think it’s time to make room for other genres of storytelling. We can’t wait to see what you can do on our platform!
About The Job:
- We’re building a platform for interactive storytelling. It’s time we changed the way stories are created and published. We think individual creators should be able to pilot ideas, iterate off feedback/metrics, control how they monetize, and add visuals/interactivity to bring stories to life on mobile devices.
- We have a few internal titles that we would like to complete and are looking for folks in a work-for-hire capacity. This differs from our sponsored author program where we provide advances + royalties and would be a flat payment per episode.

Impact
You’ll be the hero of writers and artists who will be able to make a sustainable living by reaching their fans directly on our platform. When they succeed in creating recognizable, hit stories that start in gaming but expand to television/film/comics, you’ll smile knowing you had a integral part in bringing all of that to life.
Risk
We’re early enough where you’ll have a hand putting us on the map but far enough along that we have largely solved product/market fit.
