Job Responsibilities:
This job is responsible for monitoring patients with behavioral/cognitive issues or other areas of potential concern who need to be observed on a continual basis in order to quickly identify circumstances that could impact their ongoing safety and care.
Monitoring is executed from a remote location, using live non-recorded streaming video equipment to ensure that the patient is interacting with the environment in a safe and appropriate manner at all times.
An incumbent monitors patients for signs of detrition, agitation, impulsiveness, and/or attempts to get off bed/chair unassisted, for pulling on lines, tubes, or other medical devices, and for vomiting in patients wearing C-pap or Bi-pap masks.
Work also includes establishing/maintaining effective communication channels with bedside direct patient care staff, reporting potentially dangerous changes in patient behavior, and escalating communications as necessary using established protocols and best judgment.
Job Requirements:
Any combination of related education and experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities to perform the duties of the position.
License/Certification: Current Certified Nursing Assistant license with the Washington State Department of Health.
