In the past year, we’ve doubled our team to > 100 and looking to 3x our tight-knit engineering team of 11 people. We have an extremely diverse team – our leadership team is 50/50 men and women, and our backgrounds include life coaches to writers to engineers.

The right candidate will drive the design, development, and operations of our application data pipelines which collect, process, and distribute data throughout our ecosystem. Key areas of focus will be data capture, ETL operations, sync operations, data storage, data movement, data warehousing, and data virtualization.

The candidate should have a deep understanding and prior experience in AI and ML tools/platforms and techniques. The selected candidate will lead advancements in the collection of data in order to increase our use of probabilistic and learning models in order to advance efficiencies and insights related to our business model.

The candidate is well rounded in engineering and has a multi-platform background, and simultaneously possesses a desire to lead and optimize actions and approaches that balance latency of bringing data from source to target destination at scale. This individual develops strong, credible relationships with all levels of team members and customers and promotes the technology roadmap strategically in a way that both business and technical teams can understand and support.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to the application data pipeline strategy by creating, managing, and promoting short and long-term technical solutions.
Function as principal developer of a cohesive system of infrastructure, data models, services and technologies that empower other teams to produce high-value data driven products for our internal team and customers.
Provide technical oversight and guidance, ensuring standards and best practices are in place and being followed.
Participate in backlog grooming, story-mapping, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives.
Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards and policies.
Create quality documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, and written documentation describing the design, implementation, and enterprise value related to deliverables.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Masters in the Data Science field preferred
A minimum of 8 years of experience as an engineer with mastery of the common data transformation protocols, paradigms, patterns, and expertise
Experience with and a thorough understanding of multiple disciplines such as data security, ETL methodologies, data warehousing methodologies, and cloud platforms
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Prior experience using AI/ML models and strategies to enhance business processes
Preferred knowledge in the following technologies:
Python
SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
DBT
AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake-(nice to have)
AWS Glue, Kafka, AWS Kinesis
Spark, AWS Lambda
Elasticsearch
