UI/UX Web Designer (Filipino) – Jumpcut

Job Expired

UI/UX Web Designer
(Work Remotely from the Philippines)

Jumpcut

Job Description:

We’re looking for a remote UI/UX Designer who can join our team — flexible hours. If you’re looking for a great position with good pay, a good manager, and a fun team, this is the place to do it.

ABOUT US:
Jumpcut is a rapidly growing online education company that creates entrepreneurial business courses. We’re a Y Combinator startup that’s raised around $2M to date in venture funding, and is currently profitable. We create cinematic online courses with some of the world’s biggest influencers. Our founding team has years of experience creating binge-worthy content — and now we are on a mission to interrupt the online education industry by creating courses for the modern world that are as addictive as your favorite TV show.

Our team is approaching online learning in a completely new way: combining educational content with compelling stories, captivating cinematography, creative soundtracks, and much more. The result is a beautiful course that feels like a movie. We believe the future of education lies in creating world-class content.

Jumpcut is a global organization. We have nearly 50 of our staff based in the Philippines, and they are best-in-class!

Job Responsibilities:

You will be creating not only beautiful sales pages (jumpcut.com), but you’ll also be crafting the look and feel of our app (see: https://app.jumpcut.com/course/viral-entrepreneur-academy). Features for our students to help them learn more — like our forum, online bootcamp, peer review, and comments sections, will all be designed by you, and then turned into a real feature by our engineering team. Other than that, we’ll also ask you to recreate and edit images for our social media stories and feeds.

The number one quality we need from you is thoughtfulness. See Red Antler (the best design consultancy for startups) and their work for Mission U, a former startup. https://redantler.com/work/missionu

It’s this type of design thinking that we want you to have as well. Your initial goal when you join is to redesign our entire website — not only jumpcut.com, but app.jumpcut.com as well so that we have a beautiful, consistent, and premium feel to our courses.

This is a collaborative effort, not only between you and the team but between you and our users.

From us, we’ll give you guidelines for what we want, and we’ll tell you more about the vision of our company. Interms of process, you’re going to go from brainstorming dozens of ideas, to working with us to narrow down which ones have potential, then wireframing them, and finally sketching them out into fully fleshed out pages, before revising them over and over until they just work.

We have a full software development team, so as soon as the design for something is finished, our engineers will code it onto the site, and you’ll see it live on our site. As our designer, you will literally be responsible for everything that we have up online.

We’re a fun team, and you’ll be working with us through Slack. The work is remote, so you can do it at home.

Because our engineering team is all-remote right now, as our designer, you choose your schedule. We do NOT require you to work the graveyard shift and stay on Los Angeles time. You can work on your own time.

Job Requirements:

– Expert level proficiency with programs equivalent to: Adobe PS, Illustrator, Sketch, Figma, etc.
– Experience working with a front-end developer to implement your designs.
2+ years of experience with UI/UX and/or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Experience with both web and mobile design are preferred.
– A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to craft delightful UI and UX.
– Someone good-hearted, kind, motivated, and smart, who we will enjoy working with
– Has a strong opinion on what good design looks like.
– Easy to work with, and easygoing, but also with a passion for doing design work

How To Apply:

Send an email to careers@jumpcut.com with the subject line, “I’m your web designer!”. In the body of the email, do 2 things:

1 – Send us a link to your portfolio online — whether it’s your own website, or Dribble account, etc. that can showcase your previous work as a web designer, or send us some sample designs that you’ve created. We want to see what you’ve done before. Don’t write anything extra: just link the site.

2 – Go to our blog (blog.jumpcut.com) and read our company values post, “The Fantastic Five.” Do NOT comment on the article. Instead, in the body of your email, write exactly 3 sentences on why you want to work for Jumpcut. Don’t be generic — show off your personality and write personally, as you would to your best friend.

We will try to get back to you within 24 hours of your email. Even if you don’t make it, you will get a nice rejectionemail. ?
