Job Responsibilities:
- Successfully research and document medical conditions
- Communicate with Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) for Compensation and Pension Record Interchange (CAPRI) checks if needed
- Make sure the case is complete before the scheduled exam
- Maintain the correct status in OMS codes for each case
- Researching both common and uncommon medical conditions
- Break down and scan physical c-files if needed
- Train for both scanning and bookmarking when needed
- Occasional special projects from other departments
- Stride to achieve quota on a daily basis
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA
- Attend periodic meetings
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year of Clerical, Customer Service or Contact Center experience required
- Minimum 1 year experience working with Medical Records
Preferred:
- Experience facilitating providers review of the veterans’ medical records by providing the pertinent information that is being requested
- Experience reviewing medical records
