Job Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain distributed cloud infrastructure and platform services with a collaborative approach with Software Engineers
  • Work on scaling, automation, reliability and observability of services
  • Troubleshoot production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
  • Identify security gaps proactively and design & implement effective preventative controls
  • Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization

Job Requirements

  • Proven track record of building large scale, cloud based complex distributed systems; identifying shortcomings and optimization opportunities; and making data driven cost performance tradeoffs to influence design decisions
  • Empathy, strong communication skills and a deep respect for the power of collaboration
  • The ability to drive clear next steps when encountering ambiguous spaces without clear lines of ownership, aiming to enable developers to self-service as much as they can
  • Experience in system administration and writing infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) in a high-stakes production environment
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives
  • Experience handling critical incidents for production systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Software engineering experience
  • Linux system administration knowledge
  • Understanding of topics such as platform hardening, malware detection, and endpoint management through configuration as code
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for different audiences (leadership, users, stakeholders etc.)
  • Uphold high standards for engineering and product quality and mentor other team members to do the same
  • Hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production
